Our Story


Aysun and her family have always been passionate about Turkish food and authentic Mediterranean hospitality. Finally, their dream of bringing this passion and love to the people of North London has come true. Many of the original recipes used in the menu have been passed down through generations and combined with the kitchen teams’ flair and imagination the Carob Tree has taken shape. All dishes are made by our team and nothing except ice cream is made off-site and this is exactly the way Aysun loves things to be – fresh and homemade as she would do herself when entertaining for friends.

The décor, music and lighting have all been designed by Aysun and her family to not only reflect her heritage but also the location of leafy Highgate. She is sure that you will love the combination of authentic food, contemporary décor in a fabulous location, coupled with very warm Turkish hospitality.
